SIUT Training Opportunities
Sindh Institute of Urology and Transplantation offers various training Programmes which are recognized by the Higher Education Commission (HEC), College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan (CPSP), Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC), Pakistan Nursing Council (PNC), Karachi University and Sindh Medical faculty.
SIUT has been granted Degree Awarding status by the HEC which presently means for B.Sc, BS, Masters, MA in Bioethics, MD, MS, PhD and Post Fellowship Programmes.
PhD programme of SIUT:
PhD in Biological Sciences: Open to candidates with BS / MSc / MPhil / MBBS or equivalent in Molecular Biology, Microbiology, Immunology, Biochemistry and Genetics. Candidates must meet HEC requirements for admission in PhD programme.
Postgraduate Programme:
MD and MS in Urology and Nephrology Programmes form SIUT:
The training comprises of 5 years with emphasis in basic sciences leading to specialized clinical training. Candidates with MBBS and 3 years relevant experience are eligible to apply.
2 year Post FCPS fellowship training Programmes:
This programme is offered in infectious diseases, paediatric Urology and Endo-urology. Candidates possessing FCPS Medicines, Paediatrics and Urology may apply.
FCPS Residency Programme from SIUT:
This programme is designed to provide a solid foundation in patient centered ethical care, wile focusing on personal and professional growth. Emphasis is placed in critical thinking, time management, collaborative care, research and communication.
The College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan (CPSP) granted SIUT full accreditation in the following disciplines:
Anaesthesiology
Histopathology
Haematology
Microbiology
Chemical Pathology
Immunology
Diagnostic Radiology
Gastroenterolgoy
Urology
Nephrology
Surgery (IMM i.e. 2 years)
Eligibility for FCPS:
FCPS-I with 2 years training in the relevant disciples as enquired by CPSP.
