Master of Arts

Introduction of M.A / M.Sc /M.Com
A Master’s degree gives a mastery of a particular field of study. Holders of a Master's degree program enjoy a range of academic skills of a subject. The Master of Arts and Master of Science degrees are the basic degree type in most subjects, and they may be course-based, research-based, or a combination of the two.

A thesis may or may not be required, depending on the program. There are a range of pathways to the degree. The master's is usually offered at a postgraduate level. Some university Programmes provide for a joint bachelor's and master's degree which is called a honour degree, after four or five years.
 
Duration
Master’s degree requires two year program of study after completing two years bachelor’s degree. Master degree may be of one year if the bachelor degree is of 3 years.  It provides higher qualification for employment or prepares for doctoral studies.
 
Eligibility
Admission to a master's program normally requires holding a bachelor's degree. Progressing to a doctoral program sometimes requires that the candidate first earn a master's degree.
