Career as a Gemologist and Jewellery Making in Pakistan

Precious stone workers or gemologists and Jewellery makers make use of different popular and specialized tools to design, produce and polish gemstone and Jewellery.  Gemologists examine, explain, and confirm the grade and characteristics of gemstones. Gemologists may work in gemological laboratories or as quality control professionals for shops, importers, or manufacturers.

Most of salaried positions for precious stone workers are in commercial trade, generally in jewelry, luggage, and leather-based produce retailers. A good number of these recruits are self-employed and many carried out their own store or repair shop. A few specialized in designing and producing customized jewels.

Despite the fact that the retail stores and repair outlets are found in every metropolis in Pakistan and even in small townships, the majority jobs are available in beg cities like Karachi, Lahore, Faisalabad, Rawalpindi and Peshawar.

After using microscopes, computerized tools, and other grading gadgets to inspect precious stones or polished parts of stones, they write results testifying that the items are of a special quality. Many jewelers also learn gemology to get accustomed to the physical features of the gems with which they work. Gemologists commonly learn their trade on-the-job for several months; however, vocational and technical colleges are increasingly becoming more common options for workers to learn their skills worldwide and in Pakistan, as far as my knowledge is concerned there are six technical institute located in Peshawar and are being run by the government bodies wherein the technique of gemology and Jewellery making is taught.
