According to TTS, teachers are initially appointed for a three-year period followed by a soft review which, if successful, automatically leads to renewal of the contract for another three years. At the end of the six-year probationary period, a committee of international experts, independent of the university in question, considers the faculty members for tenure permanent appointment on the basis of publications and the curriculum vitae. They are initially paid Rs 80000.
