years.
Great numbers of Telecom jobs have been created and youth are
choosing career in telecom sector in Pakistan. In earlier days, long distance communication involved signals like
smoke, drums, semaphore, flags, Morse code and heliograph.
However, with time and development in the telecommunication sector,
electronic transmitters such as telephone, television, radio, and
computer were introduced.
Since economic
growth is directly proportional to employment opportunities, so if the
economy of the state is weak, it will lead to its decline. In the
recent years, Pakistan has
witnessed an outstanding growth in the telecom industry which has
resulted in a lot of competition within the sector, thus compelling
companies to enhance their infrastructure. This has created great
opportunities for operators, service providers, engineers and others
related to this industry.

that the leading telecom companies offer a variety of career options
in telecom,
with telecom engineering being a major one. The telecom industry can be
divided into five main sector; mobile sector,
fixed line sector, wireless local loop sector, payphone services and
internet services. Telecommunication is a growing field and
right now there’s no shortage of jobs in this sector. “Our engineers
are working both in the public and private sector organizations.”
The public sector
telecom companies are PTCL suparco, where telecom engineers are in
demand and they are initially hired at basic pay scale 17, with PTCL,
appointing fresh engineers are trainee engineers. In the private
sector, the initial salary ranges from Rs. 15000 to Rs. 35000, depending
upon the candidates Expertise and the company’s profile. The mobile
sector is the one with the most demand for telecom engineers.
Jobs Abroad:
Like other
professions, the telecom sector has also paved the way to foreign
countries for our engineers. Right now our telecom engineers are
working in the UK, the USA,
Canada and many other countries.
Getting a good job
in a foreign countries is not so simple, thus, it is better to apply in
any well-reputed foreign university for further education after passing
a bachelor’s or master’s level programme in telecommunication in Pakistan.
But if your have
at least thee years work experience in Pakistan’s telecom sector and you
have successfully proven your skills to the foreign employer during the
interview, then there is also a possibility of getting the job without
having a foreign university degree.
