Arts, commerce and science colleges provide two types ofdegrees in Pakistan namely bachelor's degrees (BA, B.Sc, BBA, BCom, etc.). Normally these programs are of 2 years duration and start after secondary school certificate examination (12 years of education). After successful completion of these programs, a bachelor's degree is awarded by the respective university to which the college is affiliated.
Students can get themselves enrolled for BCom & BA degree progreamme as a private candidate or external candidate. An external candidate studies privately on self basis or through private tutor. The examinations for these programs are held in universities with strict monitoring. On successfully completing bachelor program either as a private candidate or external candidate, one can get admission in the regular program of master degree in the universities in Pakistan.
