Pakistan Navy Jobs

Pakistan Navy protects coastal borders and sea of Pakistan.  For talented Pakistani youth Jobs are offered in various departments and disciplines.  Officers in Navy work on coastal installation as well as on the navel ships. Pakistan coastal area spread from Arabian ocean to Indian Ocean.  It is hundreds of mile long.  Pakistan Navy offer career and jobs opportunities in the following fields:

PN Cadets Scheme

After passing the ISSB tests the selected candidate is admitted in the Pakistan Navel Academy Karachi for the training of Midshipmen.  This is a 1 ½ years training program.  After this training the cadets join the ships experiencing the life at sea.  They work in various locations on board.  They cadets are commissioned as Sub-Lieutenant in Pakistan Navy.   They are allocated in the operation Branch or Mechanical Branch.  

1.    OPERATIONS BRANCH OFFICERS

Operation Branch officers are to undergo further training at Naval Engineering College for 2 ½ years. Completing this training at NUST, the participants are awarded the degree in electronics from NUST. Various professional courses are the next part of a cadet training life.  They are to undergo courses like surface and under water warfare, electronics and communication warfare, and navigation cum operations training.  Further on the officers are appointed onboard ships to obtain watch-keeping certificates.

2.    MECHANICAL BRANCH OFFICERS

Mechanical Branch cadets start further training at PN Engineering College in the Mechanical discipline after the training B.E (Mechanical) degree is conferred on them from NUST.  For watch keeping certification they are further join the board ships.  

3.    LOGISTICS BRANCH OFFICERS

Logistics branch officers are admitted in the School of Logistics and Management which is affiliated with IBA (Institute of Business Administration).  BBA (Hons) degree is awarded to the officers after two years of training.  They subsequently join the ships for competency certificates.

  • Male citizens of Pakistan
  • Age:
  • Civilian Candidates – 16 ½ to 21 years
  • Service Candidates – 17 to 23 years
  • Marital Status: Unmarried
  • Height:  162.05 Centimeters (5’ – 4”) Minimum.


What should be your qualification?

At least 60% marks in:

  • F.Sc (pre engineering) with the combination Maths, Physics and Chemistry Or
  • A level or GCE or Higher Cambridge School Certificate
  • DAE - Diploma of Associate Engineers (with Physics, Maths and Chemistry)

How will you be selected?

  1. Entry Tests:
  2. Intelligence test
  3. Academic test (English, Maths, Physics and General Knowledge)
  4. Preliminary Medical
  5.  Interview


Those candidates who declared passed at selection centers are issued Application Forms for ISSB Tests.
ISSB Tests at Kohat, Gujranwala, Malir and Quetta

Those who are recommended in ISSB Tests are referred to Medical Examination at Combined Military Hospitals (CMHs)

Pakistan Navy Selection Board conducts the final interview at Navel Head Quarters.  

Final selection is made on merit by NHQ.

ENGINEERING CADETS

Selected candidates who chose to be engineering cadet in Pakistan Navy are to undergo in a 26 weeks training program at PNA.  After the successful completion of this training the cadets pass out as Midshipman and join ships.  There, they work at sea and experiencing the adventurous life of sea.  The midshipmen are inducted as sub-Lieutenant after getting 26 weeks training at sea.  Cadets are given backdated seniority.

You should be:

  • Unmarried male citizens of Pakistan
  • Age:                 Less than 26 years.
  • Height:         162.5 Centimeters (5’ – 4”) Minimum.


What should be your academic qualification?

B.E (Bachelor of Engineering) in

  • Electrical
  • Electronics
  • Mechanical
  • Avionics


Selection Procedures

  • Entry Tests:
  • Intelligence test
  • Academic test consisting of question from English, Maths, Basic Engineering, General Knowledge and Specialty
  • Preliminary Medical test at selection center
  • Interview

Qualified candidates at Selection Center are issued Application forms for ISSB Interview which is held at Kohat, Gujranwala, Malir and Quetta.

Comprehensive Medical Examination at Military Hospital

Final Interview by the Naval Selection Board at Navel Head Quarters

Final selection is made after considering the merit positions of the candidates by Naval Headquarters

SHORT SERVICE COMMISSION

Five years Short Service commission is offered to eligible candidates in the following branches of Pakistan Navy:

  • Education Branch
  • Special Branch (Computer Programmer/IT Specialists)
  • Law Branch

EDUCATION BRANCH

You can apply if you are:

Male/Female citizen of Pakistan
Age:               Not more than 28 years
Height:         162.5 Centimeters (5’ – 4”) Minimum.

You posses the following qualification:

MA/MSC in

  • Physics
  • Maths
  • Chemistry
  • Psychology
  • Islamic Studies
  •  English
  •  Urdu

The Selection Criteria:

SPECIAL BRANCH AS COMPUTER PROGRAMMERS

You are eligible if you are:

  • Male/Female citizen of Pakistan
  • Age:                  20 to 35 years of age
  • Height:              162.5 Centimeters (5’ – 4”) Minimum.


Your Qualification should be:

Masters Degree in:

  • Software Engineering
  • Information Technology
  • Computer Technology
  • Computer Science

The Selection Procedure:

  • Intelligence Test
  • Preliminary Medical
  • Interview

Successful candidates at selection centers are issued application forms for ISSB Test or Interview.

Work environment

Every branch of Navy demands team work.  Officer has to perform their duties on sea and cost during employment career.  Besides that one has to remain busy abroad.   Working environment is quite neat and clean and officer enjoys working in a clean atmosphere while navel avian personals slightly face tougher work conditions.  Navel Divers who lay and clear mines face difficult circumstances and endanger their lives to carry out their duties. Officers who work in submarine have to perform in a narrow working place. Navel ships tours different countries on friendly tour providing opportunities to the officers and sailors to see the world, meet different people and learn new things.  Those who fond of itinerant has an attractive career in navy.
