NTS Tests in Pakistan

NTS is the government run autonomous organization which conducts various types of tests and assessments for colleges and universities admissions.  NTS also arrange tests for various scholarships, and recruitment process.  Government departments consider NTS score while promoting officers. This organization has an autonomous status.   NTS Tests are now becoming prerequisite for the admission in government and private sector universities and colleges.  It is now mandatory for students to appear for NTS Test for admission in those medical, engineering and business colleges and universities in Pakistan which are affiliated with NTS Pakistan.


The credibility and transparency of the National testing services is out of question due to its quality, efficiency and excellence in the previous years.

NTS utilize most contemporary tools for developing Test substance, test databank, test conduction measures, e-marking procedure and compilation of results. NTS carry out and offers two type of tests namely paper based test (PBT) and computer-based tests (CBT)

NTS conducts following tests for students in Pakistan.

1.       National Aptitude Test (NAT)

2.       Graduate Assessment Test-General (GAT - General)

3.       Graduate Assessment Test-Subject (GAT - Subject)

4.       TOEFL-ITP

5.       A1 English Test

6.       TOEIC-L&R

7.       TOEIC-S&W

National Aptitude Test (NAT)

Students who want to get admission in NTS associated Universities must participate in the NAT (National Aptitude Test).  The score of a single test will be enough for consideration in any associated college or university in the respective subject.

GAT- General

NTS has been made responsible by HEC for conducting GAT-General for admission in M.Phil degree program as well as for various scholarships schemes.  GAT-General is a GRE type Test.  The result of this test can be utilized or valid for two years for the purpose of scholarships and admissions in universities and colleges.

GAT- Subject

GAT-Subject (Graduate Assessment Test) is conducted for admission to Ph.D programs.  This test is meant to check the suitability of the candidate in specific subject.  NTS test result  is valid up to two years.  All those having studied for eighteen years of education are allowed to take part in this test.  This test can also be used to improve the previous test score.

TOEFL-ITP           

NTS also conduct test for evaluating the proficiency in English.  This test is used for academic and institutional placement.  It is also utilized for progress evaluation.

TOEIC A1 English                

TOEIC A1 English is mandatory for those spouses whose partner is a UK national and intend to get UK immigration.   National Testing Service of Pakistan is authorized by the United Kingdom Border Agency to administer the said test for candidates who want to admission in UK on spouse visa for TOEIC-L&R and TOEIC-S&W which are test for international communication in English.

Registration Procedure

Interested candidates are advised to download the online printable registration form and fee deposit slip from the website of the organization.   Deposit the required fee in the bank through bank deposit slip downloaded from the website.  After filling the registration form affix two photo graphs along with the photocopy of the national identity card and the original bank slip of the fee with the form and send it to the Islamabad address of NTS.
